Introduction

 

The New Brunswick Genealogical Society maintains an internet database of the Loyalist “First Families” of New Brunswick. It has these entries about John Thorn Craft and his wife Susannah Wetmore, and as well, John Thorn Craft’s brother, Reuben Craft and his wife Alithea Wetmore.

 

CRAFT: John Thorn Craft born c1753 in NY, died 2 Nov 1807, possibly s/o John and Jerusha Thorneycraft: married 30 Jul 1780 at Hempstead, Long Island, NY, Susannah Wetmore born 22 Apr 1753 in Rye, Westchester County, NY, d 4 Apr 1850, d/o James Wetmore and Elizabeth Abrahams : came to NB in 1783 as Loyalists and settled at Carleton, Saint John:

1) Elizabeth Craft born c1785, d 25 Jun 1868, married (1st) Joseph Littlehall born 29 Aug 1779, died 1 Apr 1812, married (2nd) 2 May 1813 James Moody Brittain b 1779, d 29 Sep 1857:
